Zoe & Shaun - St. Chad's Church & Hope Street Hotel Wedding, Liverpool

December in Liverpool set the scene perfectly for Zoe and Shaun’s wedding day, which I captured as a Liverpool wedding photographer. The day began with Zoe getting ready at home with her bridesmaids and family, and the Christmas tree adding a festive touch. I photographed all the little details too—rings, perfume, shoes, and dress—before she was ready to head to the ceremony.

  • The wedding ceremony took place at St. Chad’s Church in Liverpool. It was raining, but Zoe had a stash of umbrellas, and her bridesmaids helped lift her dress so she could arrive without getting wet. Inside, the church was decorated with fairy lights, creating a cosy, festive atmosphere. After the ceremony, we captured a confetti shot with all the guests cheering as Zoe and Shaun shared a kiss among the falling confetti.

We quickly took a big group shot of all their wedding guests on the steps before continuing inside due to the weather. Later, I captured some natural, candid moments of Zoe and Shaun strolling along a path lined by trees under an umbrella, sharing laughter and little kisses—the kind of real moments I love photographing as a Liverpool wedding photographer.

The celebration continued at Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool, where guests enjoyed drinks while the speeches took place. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the city skyline at night created a stunning backdrop for evening portraits and balcony shots. We also captured intimate moments at the bar, the cake cutting, first dance, father-daughter dance, and even some fun shots with their family dog.

It was a day full of laughter, love, and genuine moments. If you’re planning a wedding at Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool or elsewhere in the city and want natural, unposed photography that tells the full story of your day, get in touch - I’d love to capture it for you.

What did Zoe and Shaun say about their wedding photography experience?

"We cannot recommend Gemma enough! Her candid, documentary-style captured us, all the moments, and our day perfectly. Our photos are unbelievable. We’ve got photos we didn’t even realise were being taken and they really just capture us in the moment. Gemma was so mindful of getting us our couple shots, but also not taking us away from our guests for hours. She was incredible and our photos are more than we could have dreamt of."
